Mistakes happen. Hiding them is the real error.

MIDDERMUSIC corrects factual errors quickly and in the open, whoever spots them. When we get something wrong, we fix the article, add a note that says what changed, and record it in the log below.

How to report an error

Email will@middermusic.com with the subject line “Correction”. Include these three things so we can check your report quickly:

  1. The link to the article.
  2. The sentence or fact you believe is wrong.
  3. A source that shows the correct information, if you have one.

We review every report against the original source before we decide. If we decide no correction is needed, we tell you why.

What we correct, and how

Corrections. A correction fixes a factual error: a wrong name, date, figure, price, quote or claim. We fix the text and add a dated note at the end of the article. The note states what was wrong and what the article now says.

Clarifications. A clarification adds context when a fact is accurate but could mislead. It carries a dated note in the same place as a correction, worded the same way.

Updates. An update adds new information to a story or guide that was right when we published it. Updated articles show an “Updated” date at the top, next to the original publication date. Updates do not appear in the corrections log, because nothing in the original was wrong.

We do not delete articles to hide mistakes, however embarrassing the error. We remove content only for legal reasons or serious harm, and we note the removal in the log.

Spelling and grammar fixes that do not change the meaning carry no note. That is housekeeping.

Corrections to scores and rankings

If an error affected a review score or a product’s place in a guide, the correction note says so and gives the old and new score or position. Our scoring guide explains how scores and rankings work in each type of review.

Corrections log

The paper trail lives here. Every correction and clarification appears here, newest first, with the same wording as the note on the article.
